St. Jude is one of the original 12 apostles to Jesus, (and not to be confused with Judas Iscariot). St. Jude is known for his preaching of the Gospel during hopeless situations. As such, he is known as the patron of people with lost causes. He is patron of lost causes and offers guidance and hope during difficult times.
Tradition holds that St. Jude was a cousin of Jesus.
