Sterling silver St. Andrew medal 1" long, with 24" chain with gift box.
The New Testament states that St. Andrew was the brother of St. Peter. Both he and his brother St. Peter were fishermen. In the Gospel of Matthew and in the Gospel of Mark, Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, observed St. Pete and St. Andrew fishing, and called them to discipleship and be "fishers of men." St. Andrew is patron of Scotland, and also fishermen, rope-makers, textile workers, singers, miners, pregnant women, butchers, and farm workers. Tradition holds he offers protection against sore throats, convulsions, fever and whooping cough.
